Construction

"Pardon Us While We Move Into Something More Comfortable"

The Construction has finished on the new zoo restrooms and Gift shop/Ticket Booth complex.  These long awaited projects will make the zoos ability to provide the highest level of customer service  possible.

To facilitate visitors and animal care several of our animals have or will be relocated to other parts of the zoo.  The Geoffrey's marmosets, Prehensile tailed porcupines, Titi monkeys and Sloth have all moved to the Hoag pavilion.  The Channel Island fox has moved to our education department where he is beginning training  to become part of our outreach program.

The city of Atascadero's streets, wastewater, parks, and building maintenance divisions pitched in to help the zoo out with some of our projects.  Make sure you check out the new fencing, roofs and plantings that were installed as well as the new paint on several of our exhibits.

So you can see that there is a "LOT" going on at the zoo so come by for a visit soon!
