Family Workshops!
This Fall, the whole family can learn about our environment and the amazing animals that share our world. The zoo will be offering workshops that will cover specific animal groups.
All classes will be held on Saturdays or when schools are closed so that the whole family can attend together. Each class will last 2 hours and everyone will be able to create a craft project to take home. Workshops are $5.50 per person. Workshops will be mornings from 10:00am to 12:00 noon.
October — Turtles, Tortoises & Terrapins!
Date: October 25, 2008
Learn about the unique adaptations that have made this group of animals successful since the time of the dinosaurs. Learn how zoos are working to save these threatened species. This session will also include tips for families that may have these animals as pets.
November — Not the Usual Suspects!
Date: To Be Announced
This workshop will feature some of the uncommon mammal species that zoos are working to save. This will be an opportunity to see and learn about animals that you may never have even heard of.
December — All About Frogs!
Date: To Be Announced
Zoos all over the world have been celebrating 2008 as the year of the frog. Before we move into 2009 we will take a look at what’s in the future for these incredible creatures and how this year was just the beginning of exciting programs for amphibians around the world.
